We are seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Oncology team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fixed-term or secondment opportunity for a one-year contract, covering maternity leave.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for working autonomously in the assessment and management of patients undergoing Systematic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) at our Cancer Centres. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and providing specialist ANP knowledge to the nursing teams at both Cancer Centres.
- Developing, contributing, and leading educational programmes working closely with the Oncology Nurse Consultant, Matron, and Head of Nursing for Oncology.
- Undertaking audits and research to inform best practice, enhance patient outcomes, and drive forward improvements in patient care delivery.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A first-level registered nurse qualification.
- Relevant SACT experience, including management of clinics.
- A Bachelor's Degree in nursing, health, or management-related studies.
- A Master's level qualification or equivalent experience.
- Independent prescriber status or working towards it.
- Advanced Assessment Qualifications.
- Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT)/Oncology Qualification.
The Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP) in Oncology are a dedicated specialist team committed to providing expert advice, guidance, and support in oncology care. We value excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement in oncology care, while contributing to the strategic goals for Cancer Services within the Trust.
