Job Purpose:To coordinate and support the business on all aspects of Quality Assurance, managing and monitoring standards, processes, communications, training, and systems to ensure compliance with quality responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:- Coordinate with the retail team to conduct food safety assessments/audits, ensuring compliance and understanding.
- Liaise with external bodies such as environmental health, Primary Authority, and trading standards to ensure legal compliance.
- Provide detailed monthly reports for distribution within the business.
- Conduct supplier visits to build relationships and check compliance.
- Process and trend customer complaints.
- Write, manage, and review the HACCP plan covering all aspects of the business.
- Drive internal standards using BRC accreditation as a benchmark.
- Monitor quality and safety, issuing withdrawals and recalls when necessary.
- Attend meetings to ensure clear communication across the business.
- Oversee pest control for the distribution centre.
- Deliver induction food hygiene training at all new store inductions.
- Ensure senior management commitment and the creation/maintenance of a Quality Policy.
- Create and maintain HACCP plans, conducting risk assessments covering microbiological, chemical, physical, and allergenic risks.
- Identify, control, and train staff in checking Critical Control Points (CCPs).
- Maintain Quality Management Systems with procedures to show compliance, document control, accurate record-keeping, and scheduled internal audits.
- Conduct root cause analysis for any failures in food safety, quality, and legality.
- Oversee supplier approval and monitoring, ensuring traceability of products, and managing product withdrawals/recalls.
- Handle complaint management and control non-conforming products, damage, waste, and returns.
