Job Title: Advocacy Solicitor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advocacy Solicitor to join our team. As an Advocacy Solicitor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional legal representation to our clients in court and police stations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend court and police stations to represent clients
  • Manage emergency calls during evenings and weekends on a rota system
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of criminal law and procedures
  • Provide excellent client care and communication skills
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in law and procedures through ongoing training and professional development
Requirements:
  • Duty Solicitor status is essential
  • Supervisor experience desirable, or a willingness to gain the same
  • Knowledge of SQM and Lexcel compliance desirable, but not essential to begin with
  • Clear history of managing your own extensive caseload
  • Excellent client care skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong commercial and operational skills
  • Results-driven with a proven track record in securing fantastic results for clients
  • Sound understanding and ability to collate, interpret and present management information for the department
  • Excellent people skills and strong IT skills
