About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical, procedural, and policy advice to business stakeholders and engineers to ensure compliance with company policy and best security practices.
  • Conduct in-depth risk assessments and threat modeling to identify potential security vulnerabilities and develop recommendations for mitigation.
  • Review and recommend improvements to security architecture to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.
  • Collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to ensure that security is integrated into all phases of the business.
  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on security-related topics and participate in security-related projects and initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and technologies and recommend changes to our security posture as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong technical understanding of security concepts and technologies, including identity and access management, cloud security, and data governance.
  • Experience working in a hybrid on-premises Active Directory-Microsoft Entra domain services environment.
  • Clear understanding of common identity and access management topics, including privileged access, single sign-on, conditional access, and cloud access security brokers.
  • Familiarity with common mobile device and endpoint management solutions.
  • Understanding of the Microsoft Defender suite of products and awareness of email and web security gateway technologies.
  • Ability to understand the operation of corporate networks and firewall solutions, including wide area network considerations for multi-site deployments.
  • Consideration of how to assess the security of purchased software-as-a-service products.
  • Understanding of administering the core Microsoft 365 suite of applications, including Office, SharePoint, Teams, Viva, and apps and plug-ins.
  • Knowledge of other Microsoft enterprise services, such as Power Platform and Purview.
  • Familiarity with AI tooling, including Microsoft 365, Security, and GitHub Copilot.
  • Experience with other common productivity and collaboration tools, including Confluence, Miro, and Adobe Cloud Suite.
  • Proficiency in information and records management, including retention periods and policies, and data loss prevention, including previous experience with tooling to support such initiatives.
  • Ideal experience with virtual desktop services and various workstation deployment options, including thin client and kiosk.
  • Awareness of common hosting infrastructure options, including hypervisor services and edge computing deployments.
  • Ability to understand and assess integrations between systems through methods such as APIs, process automation, or batch processing.
  • Nice to have knowledge of AWS, Azure, Oracle, GCP, and SAP Clouds.
  • Risk management experience and understanding of risk management frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills.
  • Appreciation of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, load balancing/proxies, and API gateways.
  • Working knowledge of GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
  • In-depth knowledge of the OWASP Top 10, Mitre ATT&CK, NIST frameworks, PCI-DSS, and Cyber Kill Chain.
  • Familiarity with PAM, EDR, AV, IPS, SIEM, WAF, and DLP technologies.
  • The ability to verify solutions and gain assurance that they are fit for purpose through demonstrable evidence of controls and testing.
  • Strong understanding of the changing threat landscape and how it may affect our systems.
  • The ability to challenge concerns and report through appropriate channels.
  • Self-drive, motivation, and the ability to work independently to deliver expected outcomes.
  • Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills by blending technical knowledge with business requirements.
  • In-depth understanding of data and security risks in a large enterprise.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Graduate in computer science or cybersecurity.
  • One or more of the following security qualifications (in-date):
    • Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP).
  • One or more of the following technical qualifications (in-date):
    • Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS).
    • CompTIA Linux+ / LPIC-3 / Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
