Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide medical support to the Children and Young People Emergency Department (CYPED) at Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This will involve working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the best possible care for children and young people with medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the care of children and young people with medical conditions, working closely with colleagues in the Emergency Department, UTC, and GPs.
  • Provide shop floor support in the review of sick children, ensuring they are referred to the appropriate specialties.
  • Undertake supervision and training of junior medical staff and medical students.
  • Run General Paediatric and sub-speciality clinics.
  • Work collaboratively with the Attending Consultant Paediatrician and on-call Consultant Paediatrician to ensure seamless care.

Working Arrangements:

The post holder will work 1 in 8 weekdays (Monday to Thursday), 1 in 8 Friday mornings, and 1 in 8 weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). They will be supported by the Attending Consultant Paediatrician and on-call Consultant Paediatrician.
