Position Overview

Are you ready to be a Nurse who provides exceptional care and support to patients during one of the most challenging phases of their lives?

The University Hospital of North Midlands Trust features a state-of-the-art Cancer Centre at our Royal Stoke location, complemented by an Outpatient Chemotherapy Treatment Unit at our County site. Our Cancer Centre, which opened in July 2009, is dedicated to delivering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient oncology and haematology services. It includes an Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU) specifically designed for the immediate management of oncology and haematology emergencies, staffed by a dedicated team of medical and nursing professionals.

Key Responsibilities

We cater to the cancer care needs of a local community of approximately 70,000 individuals. Our facilities are equipped to diagnose and treat a wide range of cancer types. At UHNM, we are engaged in cancer care daily, recognizing the profound value of life. Patients who place their trust in us deserve nothing less than the highest standards of care. We actively participate in Clinical Trials and have an on-site research team dedicated to advancing cancer treatment.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse on the professional register
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development

Desirable

  • Recognized qualification in teaching and assessing, or evidence of delivering educational sessions.
  • Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) Passport

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in venepuncture and cannulation.
  • Competence in medicines management.
  • Experience as a registered nurse in an acute hospital environment.
  • Capability to articulate the requirements for high standards of care.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
