Job Title: Financial Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Director to join our team at COREcruitment. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial activity, including accounting, reporting, process improvement, audit preparation, budgeting, and forecasting.

The ideal candidate will have extensive career experience in finance and hospitality, with a proven track record as a successful Head of Finance or Financial Controller. You will be a qualified accountant (CPA, FCA, CIMA, ACCA) with up-to-date knowledge and experience of the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage key relationships with Senior Leadership Team and Group Heads of Department Managers to provide financial support and understanding of short and long-term financial plans.
  • Review the financial performance of each department with an analysis of variances, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Challenge existing strategies and/or recommend alternate strategies to continually improve the effectiveness of the business or financial management.
  • Contribute to all business decisions regarding revenue generation, hotel expenditure, and investment.
  • Promote, drive, and maximize GOP Theoretical Flow Through concept across departments.
  • Responsible for the analysis and interpretation of financial data and communicating this in a comprehensible form, highlighting meaningful variations in operations.
  • To seek, identify, and implement best practices that will enhance revenues, guest service, and improve cost and productivity efficiencies.
  • To assist in preparing the annual budget, capital budgets, and rolling forecast in conjunction with the General Manager and other department heads.
  • Manage all facets of the capital process, ensuring all hotels establish and maintain the tracking of fixed assets sub-ledgers and depreciation.
  • Ensure cash flow is adequate to meet the needs of the operation.

Requirements:

  • A proven track record as a successful Head of Finance or Financial Controller
  • Qualified accountant (CPA, FCA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Up-to-date knowledge and experience of the hospitality industry
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced Excel expertise and adept at dealing with large data sets and subsequent reporting
  • Experience with Access Financials and People systems would be beneficial
  • An understanding of managing service charge through an external Troncmaster
