Job Opportunity for Self-Employed Heating Engineers

Example Recruitment Group is currently partnering with a national heating contractor operating within the private sector to recruit self-employed heating engineers for an ongoing service and repair contract.

Contract Details:
  • Location: Manchester area
  • Work Type: Annual Service Visits (Annual Gas Safety Check), Landlord Gas Safety Records, and central heating repairs
  • Work Load: 6-8 pre-booked appointments per day
  • Commitment: Minimum of 3 days per week, with optional weekends and evening call-out available at enhanced rates
  • Contract Length: Ongoing
  • Payment Terms:
Rates:
  • Annual Service Visit (Annual Gas Safety Check): £22.95 per property
  • Repairs: £40.00 per completed property (full van stock and parts supplied)
  • Linked Repair: £30.00 (if repair required at Annual Gas Safety Check)
  • Long Duration: £120.00

Optional out-of-hours and weekend work is available at enhanced rates.

Key Benefits:

  • Flexible workload, with 6-8 jobs per day and the ability to request additional jobs from the planning team
  • All appointments are pre-booked via a tablet device (provided)
  • The tablet includes an Exsol computer diagnosis system, which can diagnose system and boiler faults within 10 checks
  • Van stock, PPE, uniform, and kit are supplied
  • A long-term ongoing contract with consistent regular work all year round
Requirements:
  • 2 years of qualified experience as a heating engineer
  • ACS Qualifications, including CKR1 (Gas Cookers) and HTR1 (Gas Fires)
  • A side-panelled van (plain or sign-written)
  • Gas Safe Registration
  • A calibrated Flue Gas Analyser
  • £2m Public Liability Insurance
  • No unspent criminal convictions
