Job Overview
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Oncologist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with gynaecological and breast cancers.
Main Duties
Clinical
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a comprehensive cancer service to patients with gynaecological and breast tumours.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review patient cases and develop treatment plans.
- Provide clinical leadership as Gynaecology and Breast Oncology Lead.
- Contribute to the ongoing research projects using clinical and laboratory facilities.
Organisational
- Teach and train junior staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Act as clinical/educational supervisor to locally employed doctors and doctors in training programmes.
- Participate in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
Service Improvement
The appointed consultant will be expected to contribute to the ongoing service improvement programme, developing initiatives such as GIRFT, CIP, and implementing evidence-based new ways of working.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- MRCP Part 1 and Part 2.
- Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council.
Desirable Criteria
- Postgraduate thesis awarded or pending.
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) at time of interview.
Experience and Knowledge
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in Medical Oncology.
- Wide experience of prescribing chemotherapy, including E-prescribing.
- Experience of Acute Oncology.
- Meets the criteria set out in the Specialist generic capabilities framework.
