About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Production Operations team at KP Snacks. As a key member of our Engineering function, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and maintenance engineering service to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintenance of production and ancillary equipment, property, and facilities to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with production requirements.
  • Create and maintain accurate maintenance records, including data entry and scheduling.
  • Act as host for contractors working on site, ensuring all necessary documentation is available and completed, and safe working practices are agreed prior to commencement of work.
  • Respond to requests from production for engineering assistance and monitor visual management boards to ensure flagged items are addressed.
  • Work with production teams to improve their knowledge of equipment and ability to quickly identify problems and resolve where possible, or refer to relevant experts.
  • Follow policies and procedures in conjunction with the food quality management system and retailer-specific technical standards.
  • Contribute to health and safety initiatives, identifying hazards and risks, and ensuring all health and safety procedures and safe working practices are followed at all times.

Requirements
  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Mechanical or electrical experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
