Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and provide expert advice on client tenders, retainer letters, terms of business, and supply contracts.
  • Support the procurement lead in conducting thorough risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Data Protection Officer to ensure contracts comply with data protection regulations.
  • Stay ahead of data protection developments and their impact on developing legal services technologies management protocols.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the firm's risk management policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on regulatory developments and advise on their implications for the firm.
  • Provide expert guidance to stakeholders on the SRA Code of Conduct, data, and commercial risk management issues.

Requirements:

  • Experience in commercial law with exposure to data protection law, including a background in non-contentious commercial/contracting/procurement work.
  • Ability to think strategically and ethically in a business context.
  • Understanding of emerging technology and market trends, with the gravitas to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent strategic project management, planning, and advisory skills.
