Role Overview:
Our organization is seeking a dedicated Housing Officer to enhance our operational team on a temporary basis. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Property Manager and contribute significantly to the management of our properties, ensuring they remain safe, well-maintained, and inviting for all residents.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cultivate and sustain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, upholding a professional image at all times.
2. Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring residents receive the highest level of support and that any complaints or incidents are addressed in accordance with established procedures.
3. Assist the Property Manager in overseeing property management tasks, including supervising contractors, conducting regular building inspections, and ensuring all maintenance activities align with our quality standards.
4. Support administrative functions, including reception duties, managing financial transactions, and handling both internal and external communications.
5. Provide executive assistance, which includes preparing documents for Board meetings and serving as the primary contact for visitors.
6. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promptly reporting any hazards and seeking guidance when necessary.
7. Act as a deputy for the Property Manager during their absence, ensuring that all responsibilities are managed effectively.
Essential Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the legal and regulatory frameworks governing social housing and property management, with a proven track record of delivering compliant services.
- Experience in supported housing is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Background in General Needs housing or tenancy management, coupled with a commitment to assisting individuals in maintaining their independence.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by tenants with learning disabilities, mental health issues, or physical and sensory impairments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in one-on-one customer interactions.
- Proficient numeracy and literacy skills relevant to the role.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and housing management systems.
