Position Overview
Ward B7 is a 25-bed facility catering to both male and female patients suffering from neurosurgical ailments, including subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, and various cerebral hemorrhages. We provide care for individuals who have experienced brain injuries and require additional assistance. This may encompass tracheotomy management, external ventricular drainage (EVD), intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, lumbar drain care, nasogastric feeding, and bowel management. Our patient demographic is diverse, ranging from those at the end of life to individuals aiming to return to work and driving. Upon discharge, patients may either return home independently, go home with additional support, be transferred back to their local healthcare facility, or be moved to a rehabilitation unit, either within or outside the trust. Community rehabilitation teams, district nurses, and specialized nurses are available to assist patients post-discharge.

You will receive continuous support in your role through ongoing training, which includes a Care Certificate Program and ward-specific training tailored to the various conditions and injuries encountered.
