The Role

As a Versatile Engineering Specialist at Warburtons, you will collaborate with shift teams alongside production, safety, and hygiene departments. Your responsibilities will include executing planned and preventative maintenance, leveraging your engineering skills to devise robust, long-term solutions.

Key Responsibilities

You will be an integral part of a highly skilled engineering team, utilizing your expertise to identify and resolve faults through data analysis, conducting planned and preventative maintenance, and working on a diverse range of equipment, from bulk handling systems to processing and packaging, site services, and PLC control systems.

Your tasks will include:

Addressing a variety of responsibilities, from general plant maintenance to enhancing operational reliability and proactively diagnosing issues. Engaging in a state-of-the-art, highly automated 24/7 food manufacturing environment. Encouraging and implementing innovative ideas while driving continuous improvement. Identifying and executing continuous improvement projects aimed at boosting plant efficiency, minimizing downtime, and reducing energy consumption and associated costs.

In return, we will support and foster the development of your technical skills through additional training and coaching.

Essential Qualifications

Experience in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with maintenance in a FMCG/manufacturing environment. Knowledge of H&S and Food Safety systems and legislation (e.g., PUWER, IOSH). Ability to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. Understanding of PLC and control systems (desirable but not essential). Relevant engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, BTEC, or equivalent).
