About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Architect/Architectural Assistant to join their team in the Industrial sector. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing buildings and structures, collaborating with clients and professionals, and ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Planning: Create detailed plans and designs for buildings and structures, taking into account client needs and preferences.
  • Client Consultation: Meet with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert advice on design and construction.
  • Project Planning: Develop project timelines, budgets, and specifications, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Technical Drawings: Produce technical drawings and blueprints using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Building Regulations: Ensure that designs comply with local building codes and regulations, minimizing the risk of delays and costly rework.
  • Material Selection: Recommend appropriate materials and construction techniques, taking into account sustainability and environmental considerations.
  • Collaboration: Work with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to bring designs to life, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Site Visits: Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure adherence to plans, identifying and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Problem Solving: Address any issues that arise during the design and construction phases, providing creative solutions and expert advice.
  • Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable and environmentally friendly practices into designs, minimizing the environmental impact of buildings and structures.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in the Industrial sector, with a strong understanding of design and construction principles.
  • Client Facing: Excellent client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate complex design and construction concepts to clients.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of design and construction software, including CAD and BIM.
  • RIBA Stages: Experience with all/most RIBA stages, with a strong understanding of the design and construction process.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit, with the ability to produce high-quality technical drawings and blueprints.
