Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEND school in Guildford. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our secondary-age pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, SEMH, and complex behavioural difficulties.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of working with students with SEMH and Autism, and will be able to provide a safe and supportive learning environment. You will work closely with our teaching staff to develop and implement individualised learning plans, and will be responsible for supporting pupils with their daily needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with their daily needs, including personal care and mobility
  • Assisting with lesson planning and delivery, including preparing resources and materials
  • Providing one-to-one support to pupils with complex needs
  • Working with teaching staff to develop and implement individualised learning plans
  • Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A good understanding of working with students with SEMH and Autism
  • Experience of supporting pupils with complex needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
