About the Role
We are seeking an experienced project manager to join our Transformation Team at South Gloucestershire Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving change across the department to improve outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, lead, manage, and implement a key statutory service redesign project.
- Drive change across the department to improve outcomes for children and young people, delivering value for money while adhering to statutory obligations.
- Research and analyze best practice nationally to inform service redesign.
- Engage with stakeholders, including schools, other local authorities, and health services.
- Develop and present options and associated risks for service redesign to senior managers and councillors.
- Plan and implement the agreed option, which may include introducing new ways of working.
Requirements
- Relevant professional qualification, degree, or equivalent experience and/or knowledge.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Skills and experience in project delivery, public and stakeholder engagement, and risk analysis.
- Ability to think strategically and analytically, bringing creativity to project delivery.
- Collaboration and communication skills to work with colleagues from across the organization, including senior officers and elected members, as well as external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of research, development, and evaluation techniques, with the ability to maintain relevant, current knowledge of trends, approaches, and methodologies.
- Knowledge and understanding of local authority statutory responsibilities would be advantageous.
