Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and passionate Psychology Graduate to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school as a Teaching Assistant. This full-time position offers a competitive weekly pay rate and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting Students with Special Educational Needs: Work closely with students who require additional support, particularly those with learning difficulties, emotional and behavioral challenges, or mental health issues.
  • Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with teachers to deliver lessons, providing both academic support and helping to manage the classroom environment to ensure a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • One-to-One and Group Interventions: Conduct targeted interventions with individual students or small groups, focusing on areas such as emotional regulation, social skills, and academic progress.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Keep detailed records of student progress, behaviors, and any issues that arise. Regularly report findings to the SENCO and teaching staff, contributing to the development of personalized support plans.
  • Building Student Confidence: Help students build self-esteem and resilience, encouraging them to engage fully with their education and overcome any personal barriers to learning.
  • Resource Preparation: Assist in creating and adapting teaching materials to suit the needs of individual learners, ensuring that all students can access the curriculum effectively.
Requirements:
  • A recent Psychology graduate with a strong understanding of psychological theories and how they apply to education.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff alike.
  • A proactive, empathetic, and patient approach, with a genuine interest in supporting young people's mental health and educational development.
  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEN, is highly desirable, though not essential.
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in educational psychology, teaching, or a related field.
