Property Counsel (Estates) Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Property Counsel to join our legal team at Project People, focusing on supporting transactional work, managing legal suppliers, and ensuring financial control.

This role is crucial to the Estates project, overseeing Code Agreement, Lease, License, and Freehold Acquisition transactions. The successful candidate will work closely with Estates leads, ensuring timely and efficient legal completion, from instruction through to completion, aligned with monthly forecasts and project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consensual Deal Support: Leverage your telecoms lease knowledge to assist in managing transactions, working alongside legal suppliers and acquisition teams.
  • Legal Supplier Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with legal suppliers, ensuring transactions are handled efficiently and within budget.
  • Communication & Engagement: Oversee project governance, utilizing meetings, work streams, and team calls to ensure the smooth running of projects and timely resolution of issues.
  • Updating Internal Systems & Reports: Maintain accurate records, update internal systems, and provide progress reports to senior management.
  • General Legal Team Functions: Participate in departmental tasks, including organizing meetings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing legal training.
Requirements:
  • Qualified solicitor with a current practicing certificate.
  • Strong experience in commercial property law, particularly landlord and tenant matters.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to deliver clear legal advice with a commercial focus.

Desired qualifications include 2-3 years' experience in commercial conveyancing transactions and experience with the Electronic Communications Code (2017) and property litigation.
