About the Role:

NFU Mutual's Finance Division is seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to support the Operational Risk Framework within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate, monitor, and report on departmental risks and issues to ensure an effective operational risk management approach is in place.
  • Embed an appropriate risk framework and culture across the Finance Division.
  • Support the development of risk management strategies and apply controls designed to manage risk exposure.
  • Ensure continuity of services, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, internal risk appetites, and constraints.
  • Act as the Risk Information Officer for multiple departments within the division, conducting regular meetings to discuss existing risks, controls, metrics, and managing identified risks through the lessons learned process.
  • Lead in ensuring best practice from the internal Risk Framework is embedded and followed across the Finance Division, supporting and coaching managers to ensure awareness of accountabilities and expectations in relation to control and audits.
  • Support the development, testing, and maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery planning, in collaboration with other relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in operational risk management.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing controls and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders and influence decision making.
  • Ability to confidently take the lead in embedding risk management, assess emerging risk, and identify solutions focused on mitigating risks.
  • Experience in Business Continuity management, knowledge of financial controls, and substantial experience with Microsoft Office.
