Job Title: UPS Field Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced UPS Field Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and associated battery solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform site visits for service and maintenance of UPS systems
  • Diagnose and repair faults on UPS, batteries, switchgear, and control systems
  • Replace service parts in line with remedial documentation
  • Commission UPS and battery systems and associated switchgear equipment
  • Conduct battery testing using up-to-date testers and Flir equipment
  • Support business SLA requirements for breakdown response times
  • Offer technical support and assistance to internal departments and customers
  • Accurately complete service visit reports and ensure full recommendations for remedial actions
  • Ensure reports are submitted within agreed deadlines and the company CRM system is updated

Requirements:

  • Relevant electronic qualification
  • Electrical qualification and hands-on experience
  • ECS Card (not essential)
  • 5 years working as a field engineer on UPS systems
  • Experience of power electronics
  • Experience working on medium voltage applications
  • Full UK driving license
  • Excellent communication skills with customers and colleagues
  • Good personal organization skills
  • Experience in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in the use of IT for report writing and UPS system interrogation
  • Strong sense of accountability
