The Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a key role that will contribute to the success of our biscuit production operations. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our production equipment, performing routine maintenance and repairs, and implementing improvements to our processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including mechanical and electrical systems
  • Implement improvements to our processes and systems to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Conduct root cause analysis and fault finding to identify and resolve equipment issues
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new processes and systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, including Good Manufacturing Practice

Requirements

  • Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering discipline (HNC preferred)
  • IOSH Working Safely certification
  • Food Safety/Hygiene qualification
  • Knowledge of planned maintenance systems (Shire)
  • Manufacturing background (preferably food industry)
