We are seeking a highly skilled Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team at Hartpury University and Hartpury College. As a key member of our estates team, you will be responsible for maintaining the university's gardens, glasshouses, and grounds to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of Gardens and Grounds: Ensure all areas are well-manicured, clean, and free of debris, providing a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain all machinery and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to strict health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental objectives and promote effective teamwork.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility and strong time management skills to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Operational Skills: Possess good knowledge of trees, shrubs, and bedding plants, as well as proficiency in operating various machinery and driving tractors with PTO-driven implements.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Essential experience in grounds care, with industry-recognized qualifications desirable.
  • Landscape Qualifications: Advantageous to hold additional landscape qualifications, such as ride-on mowers, brush cutters, PA1 & PA6.
  • Driving License: Hold a valid UK driving license.
