Smiths Detection is a leading provider of detection equipment for various industries, including Defence. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement engineering and technical activities for Smiths Detection and 3rd party equipment integration.
  • Ensure seamless integration of Digital Networked Solutions, Software applications, and PLC low-level controls.
  • Provide technical expertise for IT & Digital Networked Solutions in the field, with a focus on the NW Europe Market, particularly the UK and Ireland.
  • Collaborate with Programmes, Product Support, and Technology departments to drive project execution and delivery.
  • Design and implement test plans, technical documentation, and test cases for large-scale aviation programmes and critical infrastructure projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or associate degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Electronic or Systems Engineering roles, with a focus on Digital Networked Solutions and PLC automation.
  • Expert knowledge of VMware ESX and related technologies, with a minimum of 2 years' experience as an IT and Networks engineer.
  • Desirable skills include Cisco CCNA, CCNP, and/or CompTIA certifications, as well as proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++.
