Digital Collections Strategist

We are seeking a strong people manager who can lead from the front and inspire their team to high levels of performance, service delivery, innovation, and continuous service improvement.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to facilitate, develop, and implement new and innovative ways of working that will challenge them and deliver high levels of job satisfaction.
Collections Development is a key part of the Collection, Technologies, and Systems team at the University of Southampton Library. Our goal is to provide students with an effective and responsive service and support, ensuring that our information resources are integral to their studies and successful outcomes.
We are adopting a new collections policy, implementing a new library services platform, and planning a major upgrade to our physical and digital library environments to support our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Collections Development team to deliver high-quality information resources and services to students and staff.
- Develop and implement new and innovative ways of working to improve service delivery and student outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Collection, Technologies, and Systems team to adopt a new collections policy and implement a new library services platform.
- Plan and manage a major upgrade to our physical and digital library environments.
Requirements:
- Strong people management skills and experience of leading a team.
- Ability to inspire and motivate team members to deliver high levels of performance and service delivery.
- Experience of developing and implementing new and innovative ways of working.
- Knowledge of library collections and services and ability to develop and implement new collections policies.
