At Langham Recruitment, we're partnering with a global leader in the space industry to find an exceptional Production Engineer to join their Space Imaging Team in Chelmsford. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of technological innovation, developing cutting-edge products for scientific, satellite, and space applications.

About the Role:

We're seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our manufacturing team, focusing on the development of high-precision silicon assembly and providing support for onward manufacturing. As a Production Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes, working closely with the production team to optimize design for manufacture (DFM).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new and existing probe capabilities for testing CCD/CMOS wafers
  • Collaborate with production engineers to optimize DFM and ensure efficient manufacturing processes
  • Assist in the development and writing of procedures for prototyping new products
  • Continuously improve existing manufacturing processes and work instructions, working with the wider production/manufacturing team
  • Generate SAP ME routings from manufacturing flow diagrams
  • Ensure all documentation is confirmed through Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
  • Manage and optimize operations flow (information and production flow)
  • Assist with production trials and ensure all relevant documentation is completed
  • Work to existing NPI processes

Requirements:

  • Experience in production/manufacturing as an engineer or technician
  • Experience in developing manufacturing processes
  • Experience in a project manufacturing environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with documented results
  • The ability to work effectively in a team
  • Self-motivation
  • Attention to detail
  • HNC in Engineering or Physics or equivalent experience
  • Desirable skills:
  • Experience within an electronics product manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
