Department/Role Overview
The Cyber Security Operations Manager will oversee the technical elements and team leadership, ensuring the proficient management of cyber security operations on a global scale. Key responsibilities include serving as the main contact for cyber security concerns, refining incident response strategies, generating technical documentation for senior management, and providing guidance on security best practices. This role also entails supervising daily team functions, managing resources, monitoring performance, and promoting professional development. The team leader will guarantee exceptional service delivery, seamless change management, and ongoing enhancement while implementing Agile methodologies and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and team members.
This position reports to the Global Cyber Security Operations Manager.
Main Responsibilities
Technical Oversight :
Primary Contact: Serve as the main point of contact for all cyber security operations issues and escalations within the designated regions. Incident Response and Problem Management: Improve the incident response plan and associated playbooks, collaborate with subject matter experts to manage incidents, lead the Cyber Security Incident Response Team as necessary, and ensure accountability in problem management assigned to Cyber Security Operations. Technical Documentation: Create technical reports for senior business stakeholders. Cyber Security Best Practices: Provide advice on security best practices for various business service requests, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory certifications.Team Leadership :
Supervision and Support: Oversee the daily operations of Security Engineering, Threat & Vulnerability Management, Data Loss Prevention, Secure Configuration, and Incident Detection & Response, along with the performance of team members. Strategic Execution: Collaborate with Senior Leadership and subject matter experts to drive and deliver strategic objectives. Resource Management: Work with the Global Cyber Security Operations Manager to ensure that tasks and initiatives are allocated based on team members' skills and workload capacity. Performance Tracking: Monitor individual and team performance against Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring that SLAs are met or exceeded. Motivation and Development: Offer guidance, feedback, and support to team members to enhance their performance and encourage professional growth. Training and Development : Identify skill gaps and arrange training opportunities to improve team members' capabilities. Performance Evaluations : Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to discuss performance, provide feedback, and establish development goals. SLA Compliance : Ensure that team activities align with SLAs and stakeholder expectations, addressing any discrepancies promptly. Process & Risk Management : Ensure adherence to security, change, and operational processes, identifying potential risks and dependencies, and taking proactive measures to mitigate them.Quality of Service:
Service Excellence: Ensure that the team consistently delivers high-quality services that meet stakeholder expectations. Change Management: Ensure that changes to systems are implemented smoothly and do not adversely affect security, services, or users. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with the following skills and experience:
Relevant Cyber Security and/or IT experience Strong technical leadership and people management skills, preferably gained in a global organization Experience managing escalations to satisfactory resolutions Proven track record in delivering business-as-usual initiatives and small internal projects using Agile methodologies Experience in managing continuous improvement initiatives Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a history of establishing and maintaining effective relationships and collaborating with stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to remain calm under pressure, with the confidence to escalate issues or highlight risks as they arise. Experience working in a global environment and across multiple time zones. Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ITSM platforms like Cherwell and ServiceNow, and the MS Office suite.Desired Skills and Experience
Experience and/or Cyber Security qualifications related to SIEM, Endpoint Detection & Response, Managed Services, Data Loss Prevention, etc.Background Checks
