We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a good-rated school in Buckinghamshire. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role:

The SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers to create and deliver activities that cater to the individual needs of students. This will involve developing a holistic approach to meeting SEMH needs, working with teachers, other support staff, families, and external agencies.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with SEN students, a good understanding of SEN, and a passion for developing their skills. They will be able to manage challenging behavior, commit to working fixed days, and have a clear and valid DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teachers to create and deliver activities that meet the individual needs of students.
  • Develop a holistic approach to meeting SEMH needs, working with teachers, other support staff, families, and external agencies.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans, Risk Assessments, Personal Care, and Therapy Care programmes for a designated group/form.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with SEN students.
  • Good understanding of SEN and passion for developing skills.
  • Able to manage challenging behavior.
  • Commit to working fixed days.
  • Clear and valid DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one.
