About the Role

We are seeking a skilled SEN teaching assistant to join our team at Forest Academy. This role will involve working closely with the class teacher to provide support to children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to children with SEN
  • Work with the class teacher to plan and deliver classroom support
  • Assist in developing each child's self-esteem and personal and social skills
  • Deliver interventions to support the needs of children in the cohort
Requirements
  • Experience of working as a teaching assistant
  • At least an NVQ3/diploma or equivalent in child development or working with children
  • Flexibility and ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Resilience, hard work, and self-motivation
  • Good sense of humour
  • Ability to adapt to suit individual learners' needs
  • Ability to manage change well and support children in various situations
