HGV Class 1 Tramper Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HGV Class 1 Tramper to join our team at HSA Transportation Limited. As a Tramper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate and manoeuvre an HGV Class 1 vehicle in compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Transport goods and materials between specified locations, adhering to delivery schedules and deadlines.
  • Conduct pre-use and post-use inspections of the vehicle and/or trailer to ensure roadworthiness and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and hours worked in compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety guidelines, ensuring the safety of yourself and others at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with management, dispatchers, customers, and colleagues to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Utilize navigation systems and maps to plan efficient routes and minimize fuel consumption.
  • Adhere to driving regulations regarding rest periods and maximum driving hours, prioritizing safety and compliance.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with clients and members of the public.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
Requirements:
  • Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
  • Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Minimum of one years' experience as an HGV Class 1 driver.
  • Excellent driving record with no more than 6 points on your licence.
  • Strong knowledge of UK road regulations and driving laws.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and self-motivation.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Physically fit and able to handle the demands of long-haul driving, including lifting and moving heavy loads.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required by the business.
