About the Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in electrical engineering while working towards a recognized qualification.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Shadow a fully qualified electrical engineer to learn the skills and methods needed to complete the apprenticeship
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
  • Work on a variety of projects, including full and part home re-wires, consumer unit upgrades, and fault finding and testing
  • Develop skills in areas such as electrical safety, health and safety, and customer service

Training and Qualifications

  • Enrolled onto a level 2 foundation apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering
  • Undertake the following qualifications: Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance and Installation, Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Technology, Essential Communication Skills, Essential Application of Number Skills, and Essential Digital Literacy Skills

Requirements and Skills

  • Punctuality and flexibility with hours worked
  • Ability to work with others as part of a team
  • Ability to follow instructions and ask for guidance when necessary
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to the job and training
  • Prior electrical experience desirable but not essential
  • Ability to drive essential for site work and travelling to the Pyle training centre
