Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Governance Lead to join our team at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with the Clinical Risk Team and the Head of Midwifery to deliver the corporate agenda on risk management.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and promote the Neonatal risk management process.
  • Collate incident statistics and monitor trends from adverse incidents.
  • Participate in the delivery of the Division plan for health and safety, and clinical and non-clinical risk assessment as determined by the Trust and Division policies and guidelines.
  • Oversee national and local service evaluation, review, and audit.

Requirements
  • Current NMC registration.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife.
  • Clinical risk management training/experience.
  • Mentorship/preceptorship trained.
  • Evidence portfolio of NMC revalidation requirements.
  • Neonatal QIS.
  • NLS certification.
  • Safeguarding children level 3.
  • Educated to degree level or evidence of working towards.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Management qualification at diploma level or equivalent.
  • Clinical audit competence/training.
  • Experience of training staff.
  • Experience of evidencing NICE compliance.
  • Experience of patient administration systems.
  • In-depth and highly developed knowledge and expertise in relation to specialist areas, CQC standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with Datix risk management system.
  • Experience of developing clinical guidelines.
  • Participation in clinical audit, including data collection and developing action plans.
