About the Role

Connex Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team in supporting students with special educational needs in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Assist teachers in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, helping students reach their full potential.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with challenging behavior, ensuring a safe and respectful classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that cater to students' unique needs.
  • Provide personal care and support to students as needed, maintaining confidentiality and dignity.

Requirements

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs in a secondary school or similar setting.
  • Ability to provide personal care and support to students as needed.
  • Confidence in working with challenging behavior and developing strategies to support students.
  • Patience, empathy, and commitment to supporting students' educational and personal development.
  • Current DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain a new one.
