We are collaborating with an innovative catering company that operates uniquely designed food buses at major festivals and sporting events throughout the UK. Their team is characterized by creativity, collaboration, and a sense of humor, and they are seeking an individual who embodies these traits.
As the Catering Operations Lead, you will be instrumental in overseeing the food bus operations at various events, ensuring that everything runs seamlessly and that customers depart with satisfaction. Your daily responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the operations of our food buses, ensuring that all aspects from inventory to team management are executed effectively.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure readiness.
- Coordinate logistics related to vehicle movements for events, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Ensure that all opening and closing procedures of the food trucks are conducted to the highest standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for event organizers, facilitating smooth communication and coordination.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and Food Safety standards, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
- Supervise and guide the team, including cooks and servers, providing leadership and support.
- Assist the team in food preparation and service, ensuring high-quality service at all times.
- Oversee team welfare during events, addressing any concerns and managing disciplinary issues as needed.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and a customer-first mindset.
- Maintain food equipment, ensuring that all appliances are in good working order.
- Uphold cleanliness standards across all work areas.
What We Are Looking For:
- A valid UK driving license is essential; a Category C license is advantageous.
- Experience in the catering and hospitality sector.
- Familiarity with POS systems and general computer skills.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.
- Experience in cash handling and sales.
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and overnight stays during events.
- A minimum of Food Safety Level 2 certification.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods during events.
