Adecco's specialist Property Services Division is partnering with Bolton at Homes to recruit a Building Surveyor on a permanent basis.

Job Purpose

The Building Surveyor will provide professional advisory and technical services related to the maintenance, development, and changes to Bolton at Home's assets, property, and land.

This role is crucial in ensuring that housing projects meet the needs and requirements of Bolton at Home's housing commitments within local communities, helping to maintain and improve assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise senior managers on options for problem-solving on current and proposed schemes, providing information on both the physical and financial progress of contracts and projects.
  • Monitor and control predetermined grant and contract scheme budgets.
  • Conduct building and site surveys.
  • Produce CAD-generated contract drawings and documentation, including schedules of work, using both JCT and TPC2005 contract formats.
  • Prepare detailed estimates and cost analysis of tenders.
  • Determine and issue site instructions and variations orders.
  • Prepare contract valuations and certificates.
  • Prepare Safety Plans and Safety Files for approval and carry out risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, customers, and external agencies in the development of complex pilot schemes, projects, and programs.

Candidate Requirements

  • A professional approach to work, remaining up to date with knowledge of relevant legislation, building regulations, CDM regulations, planning, and health & safety.
  • A degree in Building Construction or an HNC/HND in building construction, alongside experience of successfully delivering programs of work.
  • A full UK driving license and daily access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple contracts and work with others to overcome complex technical problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in damp and mould identification, reporting, and treatment.
