About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Craftsperson to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As an Electrical Craftsperson, you will be responsible for performing unsupervised work, including activities that may be demanding and/or non-routine.

Main Responsibilities

  • To undertake all work activities as requested by the Electrical Supervisor/Team leader.
  • To work in accordance with Trust safety rules and procedures at all times.
  • To actively participate in the operation and control of engineering PPMs.
  • To liaise with the Electrical Supervisor regarding plant failures, or deviations to regulations.
  • To undertake fault finding on complex electrical distribution, lighting, fire detection, air conditioning, standby generator, nurse call, security, UPS, CCTV, data, communications, or other critical systems and equipment.

Requirements

  • Basic education to GCSE/O Level in Maths and English or post-secondary training education in a relevant field.
  • Course 232 in Electrical and Electronic Craft Studies, part OR.
  • Course 236 in Electrical Installation Works, part OR.
  • An equivalent qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in a relevant electrical engineering or building services engineering discipline.
  • BS 7671 Edition Wiring Regulations.
