SEND Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a SEND Teaching Assistant at a mainstream Primary School in Richmond.

About the Role:

  • Work under the direction of the SENCO to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching of pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Encourage the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school and enable pupils to become more independent learners.
  • Support children and young people who have a range of additional and often complex SEND, including ADHD, ASC, social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, speech language and communication needs, and resistant behavior.

Requirements:

  • A degree and strong attainment across GCSE and A-Level.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work and student behaviors.
  • A good understanding of how children learn and previous knowledge of ASC and ADHD.
  • Good organizational skills and a positive, resilient mindset.
