In this role, you will be accountable for steering projects to achieve defined outcomes and deliverables while adhering to time, budget, and quality standards. You will meet internal financial expectations while effectively managing risks and changes. Collaborating with the project team, including clients, design teams, and other consultants, you will oversee project management, technical services, and external resources to ensure successful project delivery aligned with client expectations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing intermediate-level tasks and deliverables, supporting senior management to ensure timely and precise execution of project and program management functions, while collaborating with the broader project team.
- Providing expert knowledge to assist teams across various business projects and units, ensuring optimal project outcomes.
- Managing design teams and project stakeholders to guarantee effective completion of responsibilities, including project briefs, scopes, fees, claims processing, and variations.
- Creating design and authority schedules that integrate with procurement and delivery timelines.
- Achieving project goals by leading and managing project teams and stakeholders to meet strategic key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Adhering to health, safety, and well-being standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Preparing and updating project plans, ensuring relevance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitoring project timelines to ensure successful program delivery, identifying risks, challenges, and mitigation strategies, while managing project budgets in line with agreed returns.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure robust quality systems are established and maintained in accordance with service excellence.
- Facilitating and documenting relevant meetings, providing stakeholders with contextual information and analysis, including regular site inspections.
- Partnering with stakeholders to actively manage risk and mitigation strategies.
- Coordinating and providing all approved handover documentation prior to project completion.
- Promoting and advancing business priorities through construction, production, digital and data initiatives, and responsible business practices.
- Working collaboratively towards the shared goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions and taking responsibility for identifying and managing associated carbon outputs during project execution.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Demonstrated experience in project management, overseeing small to medium and large-scale projects.
- Strong communication, presentation, and project planning skills.
- Expertise in budget management.
- Advanced skills in stakeholder communication, coordination, and collaboration.
- A solid understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to support client-focused initiatives.
- Proactive management of internal budgets and fees to achieve desired outcomes.
- Competency in construction methodologies and sequencing.
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in the relevant sector or market.
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in project management.
- Strong technical knowledge of Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations and sector-specific guidelines.
- Familiarity with consultancy, construction, infrastructure, and property sectors, along with an understanding of estimating, scheduling, contract administration, procurement, and commercial controls.
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improved practices.
- Ability to differentiate services and implement innovative solutions.
- Effective stakeholder management for project initiatives.
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced communication skills to guide teams in achieving project KPIs.
