About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Contracts Executive to join our busy and supportive Contracts department at Bloomsbury Publishing plc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating and managing a variety of agreements for authors, editors, and series editors across the Bloomsbury Group in the UK, USA, and India.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for content provided across all divisions, working closely with Editorial staff to answer queries and provide contractual support.
  • Liaising and cooperating with departments across the company, including Royalties, Rights, and Legal, to maintain accurate records of contracts progress.
  • Working efficiently and collaborating with the other Senior Contracts Executive, providing guidance as needed to the Contracts Executives, and supervising the Contracts Assistants.
  • Covering the Contracts Manager's role in their absence.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Biblio and foundational knowledge of standard contractual and publishing terms.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to meet deadlines and communicate potential delays.
  • Experience of drafting and reviewing contracts and addenda, with a good understanding of contract law.
  • Ability to work independently and provide support for the Group Contracts Director and Contracts Managers.
  • Able to challenge internal stakeholders to ensure that group policies are followed.
