We are seeking a dedicated SEN Humanities Educator to join our team at an Ofsted rated 'Good' institution specializing in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) education. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting students with diverse behavioral needs.
Classroom Environment:
The classroom will accommodate a small group of 3-8 students, ensuring personalized attention and support. Additional assistance will be provided by experienced Teaching Assistants to enhance the learning experience.
Compensation:
The daily rate will be competitive and aligned with the scale.
Contract Details:
This is a full-time position, requiring commitment from Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
As a SEN Humanities Educator, your role will involve:
- Delivering tailored instruction to a class with varying needs, including non-verbal and physical communication.
- Collaborating closely with students, their families, and fellow staff members to foster a positive and effective learning environment.
- Adapting the curriculum to meet the individual requirements outlined in each student's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
- Utilizing a variety of assessment strategies to monitor and evaluate student progress.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, Complex Needs, and/or Physical, Mental, or Sensory Impairments.
- Strong skills in behavior management.
- Effective communication abilities with students, staff, and parents/carers.
- An enhanced Child or Child & Adult barred list DBS certificate.
