Job Title: Regional Transport Manager

We are seeking an experienced Regional Transport Manager to join our team at SYNETIQ Ltd. in Winsford. As a key member of our transport operations team, you will be responsible for managing, auditing, and reviewing transport collection operations to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain strict legal compliance in all areas of the operation
  • Ensure vehicles are collected in the most cost-effective way possible
  • Assume responsibilities associated with the Company's Operator's License
  • Develop and implement management structures, monitoring, and reporting systems to comply with legislation
  • Monitor and utilize vehicle consumables efficiently
  • Responsible for strategic and operational planning and scheduling of customer logistics operations
  • Manage the supply of logistics-related data to support customers
  • Investigate potential risks and implement solutions for logistics operations
  • Consult with key customers to understand their requirements
  • Analyze and evaluate support requirements to meet workload demands
  • Develop robust processes and policies to support logistics operations
  • Prepare and recommend operating and personnel budgets
  • Identify and deliver operational cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives
  • Work with various parties to handle complaints and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Negotiate services and pricing of third-party carriers
  • Serve as liaison with colleagues and customers for daily operational activities
Leadership and Development:
  • Take ownership of team health, safety, wellbeing, and compliance matters
  • Recruit and induct team members
  • Manage people resource levels to meet business needs
  • Coach, feedback, and develop team members
  • Performance manage team members
  • Engage and motivate team members to deliver growth and continuous improvements
Requirements:
  • Experience of running a high-volume, fast-paced transport function
  • Experience of using transport systems and technology to drive productivity
  • Knowledge of O License and all transport-related legislation and compliance
  • Knowledge of UK road networks
  • CPC Transport Management
  • Full clean driving license
  • GCSE in Maths and English
