Job Summary:

The Gregory Group is seeking a skilled Class 1 Driver to join our team as a Shunter. As a Shunter, you will be responsible for safely operating and maneuvering trailers, ensuring load security and adhering to site safety policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shunting and loading/unloading of trailers, ensuring load security and adhering to site safety policies.
  • Shunting between two sites and moving trailers on and off loading bays.
  • Moving trailers to be parked in allocated areas ready for delivery.
  • Liaising with the Transport Office as to what vehicles are parked in the yard.
  • Carry out local collections and deliveries as and when required.
  • Logging of trailers in and out of the depot.
  • Attending regular training sessions.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
  • Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Previous experience of shunting is advantageous.
  • Counterbalance licence is preferable, but not essential as full training can be given.
  • Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
  • Working to deadlines.
  • Confident, polite and a team player.
  • Due to the nature of the role applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated.
