Commercial Risk Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Account Manager to join our team at Baldwin Risk Partners. As a key member of our Commercial Lines team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our commercial clients, developing strong relationships with clients, insurance companies, and agency personnel, and maintaining a positive working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files in our Agency Management System, ensuring proper documentation and communication in accordance with company workflows and procedures.
- Compose professional business correspondence via letter, email, and other means, utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Perform accounting and math-related functions, including invoicing, premium allocation, and other tasks as necessary, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Monitor claims and communicate information to others in the agency, maintaining up-to-date claims information in the system and providing guidance and assistance to insured clients as needed.
- Interact with others effectively, utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance as needed to achieve company goals.
- Attend client meetings with Advisors or Directors of Risk Management, as requested, and assist coworkers in responding to client inquiries or processing work as needed.
- Manage day-to-day activities of client accounts, including policy review, changes, and updates, contract review for certificates processing, preparing renewal documents, marketing and negotiating insurance programs, filing surplus lines, reviewing leases, and financial statements related to client insurance.
- Assist client inquiries via telephone and email, relaying information and following up for timely service to insured clients.
- Counsel and advise clients on coverage and exposure, recommending and placing additional coverage as needed.
- Actively seek out referrals from the current client base to solicit new business prospects, following up to generate new business using the prospect database and automation system.
- Cultivate strong relationships with insurance company partners, responsible for knowing carrier requirements and attributes.
- Look for opportunities to improve the firm, business segment, and processes, bringing issues and discrepancies to the attention of appropriate leadership.
- Demonstrate effective presentation skills through both verbal and written communications.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to learn other insurance company and firm software programs.
- Demonstrate the firm's core values, exuding behavior that is aligned with the corporate culture.
- Obtain and maintain a state insurance license(s), as required by the State Department of Insurance, to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions as necessary in states where the firm functions.
- 3+ years of experience in a Commercial Account Manager role.
