About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Privacy Counsel to join our team at Amazon UK Services Ltd. - A10. As a key member of our AWS Legal team, you will play a critical role in shaping our global privacy strategy and ensuring compliance with evolving laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement global privacy strategies and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with international laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advise on privacy-related matters and develop innovative solutions.
  • Provide expert guidance on data protection and privacy laws, including European and U.S. regulations.
  • Work closely with business leaders to prepare for and respond to new or evolving privacy laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators and industry partners.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10+ years of post-qualification legal experience, with a strong background in data protection and privacy law.
  • Exceptional expertise in global privacy laws, including European and U.S. law.
  • Experience advising on privacy legal issues related to cloud computing services.
  • Ability to set, drive strategy, and provide guidance to the team.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in mission-critical projects, working independently and often in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a variety of stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of internet services and applications and related technologies.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
