Position Summary

The role at Colas Rail involves the operation and management of various plant machinery within a specified area. This includes driving On-Track Machines (OTMs) and may extend to operating additional equipment such as Rail Grinders and Freight trains. Prioritizing safety is essential in this position.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience in train operation
  • In-depth route familiarity
  • Valid European Driving Licence
  • Valid Road Driving Licence
  • PTS Certification
  • Fire Safety Training
  • Emergency First Aid Certification
  • Experience as a Driver Mentor
  • Capability to operate all types of On-Track Machines in the assigned area
  • Understanding of Safety Plans and Method Statements
  • Adherence to Health & Safety regulations

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently driving and managing machinery
  • Following Colas Rail Services Operations protocols
  • Maintaining quality assurance systems and databases
  • Engaging in route learning and refreshers as necessary
  • Updating the route knowledge database
  • Operating various OTMs
  • Keeping routes up-to-date via the Colas Rail route application
