Position Summary
The role at Colas Rail involves the operation and management of various plant machinery within a specified area. This includes driving On-Track Machines (OTMs) and may extend to operating additional equipment such as Rail Grinders and Freight trains. Prioritizing safety is essential in this position.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience in train operation
- In-depth route familiarity
- Valid European Driving Licence
- Valid Road Driving Licence
- PTS Certification
- Fire Safety Training
- Emergency First Aid Certification
- Experience as a Driver Mentor
- Capability to operate all types of On-Track Machines in the assigned area
- Understanding of Safety Plans and Method Statements
- Adherence to Health & Safety regulations
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently driving and managing machinery
- Following Colas Rail Services Operations protocols
- Maintaining quality assurance systems and databases
- Engaging in route learning and refreshers as necessary
- Updating the route knowledge database
- Operating various OTMs
- Keeping routes up-to-date via the Colas Rail route application
