About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Radiography Senior Dental Nurse to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our imaging team, you will be responsible for providing radiography support to our undergraduate teaching programme across our outreach sites.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support Clinical Services: Assist the Dental Nurse Manager in delivering high-quality service provision within the department, ensuring the radiology service is run efficiently and effectively.
  • Radiation Safety: Act as a Radiation Protection Supervisor for the site, maintaining good compliance with local and national guidelines.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure a Quality Assurance program is undertaken within the service, identifying and addressing potential risks.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to clinical staff on the use of equipment, and support the development of Qualified Dental Nurses and Student Dental Nurses.
  • Line Management: Provide direct line management to band 4 nurses, including sickness management, annual leave, appraisal, performance management, and day-to-day management of their welfare.

Requirements
  • Essential: Post qualification experience in dental nursing, previous experience of working in a hospital setting, and General Dental Council registration.
  • Desirable: Supervision and mentoring of dental nurses and trainee dental nurses, and participation in the recruitment and selection of dental nurses.
