Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Theatre Supplies Assistant to join our team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our theatre team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our internal supply chain services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide internal supply chain services, including receipts, distribution, and materials management using computerized systems.
  • Unpack and check delivered items against delivery/order information, taking corrective action where necessary and maintaining audit records.
  • May provide on-site/local materials management/buying, raising requisitions/orders to purchase regular used "stock" and "non-stock" goods/services to meet ward/department requirements and replenishing products in accordance with agreed procedures.
  • Liaise with internal personnel and external suppliers on supplies/stock management/rationalisation/delivery, related issues.
  • Produce stock reports and analysis to advise ward/department managers.

Requirements
  • Knowledge of materials management and previous experience of working in a stock management role.
  • Experience of using IT packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office.
  • Experience of electronic data capture and using Oracle (or similar system).
  • Knowledge of receipting.
Desirable
  • Experience of working within a theatre department.
  • Experience of working within a supplies department.
Qualifications
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent level of experience/knowledge in Theatres/CSSD.
