Job Overview

The Energy Division at Advanced Resource Managers is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a leading Nuclear client based in Plymouth.

The primary objective of this role is to support the Design Manager in delivering project scope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Electrical Services Engineering Lead to deliver electrical services-related engineering work packages within the required scope, quality, schedule, and cost.
    • Manage technical deliverables of electrical services engineering packages in line with planned deliverables agreed by the Electrical Services Engineering Lead.
      • Participate in problem-solving for developing technical solutions to deficiencies or in the development of new designs.
        • Support the review and sentencing of new designs, methodology of construction, and temporary works submitted to the Technical Authority.
          • Support on-site inspection of DRDL assets for their construction, maintenance, and modification.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Experience in designing electrical building services, including fire detection and alarm systems, industrial lighting, emergency lighting, site broadcast (PA), and HVAC.
    • Knowledge of substantiation of SIL and high-integrity systems for justification of Nuclear Safety functions.
      • Ability to provide expert advice to sub-contracted design houses to enable them to develop the design or undertake detailed design activities to suit the design delivery strategy.

Qualifications:

The candidate will have a degree or equivalent in an Electrical or Electronic Engineering-related discipline.

  • Preferably Chartered Engineer status and member of relevant institute or significant demonstrable engineering experience and capable of registration with the Engineering Council at CEng level.
