About the Role

The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the commissioning of all applicable equipment, systems, and machinery prior to being handed over to end users with the correct documentation and adequate training to ensure safe, reliable, and satisfactory operation.

The key purpose of this role is to manage the new construction commissioning phase of the Align C1 Project and carry out all commissioning-related deliverables for the hand-over of new assets to the required standards and specifications of HS2 and other parties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate commissioning durations and develop a Commissioning Plan to achieve scheme deliverables as agreed by the design team, construction team, and Operations.
  • Review and update the plan as necessary in consultation with the project team to reflect changes during the commissioning period.
  • Ensure correct approval procedures are followed and all stakeholders are informed.
  • Implement the plan in accordance with approved HS2 and Align JV Commissioning Procedures, Align JV HSEQ procedures, and all relevant HS2 Standards and Specifications.
  • Manage and deliver dry (and wet) commissioning and any relevant performance testing of new plant, ensuring all applicable standards and specifications are met during the commissioning phase.
About You
  • Hold a degree-level or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Ideal Chartered Membership of an appropriate Professional body (e.g. MICE).
  • Demonstrable experience of major projects.
  • Understanding of infrastructure construction projects.
  • Good working knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with NEC3 Contract documentation.
  • Experience of regulatory compliance processes commensurate with the role.
