The Role: Data Platform Engineering Manager
We are seeking a talented manager to lead our newly formed Data Platform team. Reporting directly to the Head of Data & Machine Learning, you will be responsible for the end-to-end operation and maintenance of our existing data infrastructure. This role demands a strategic vision for the platform's future direction and the ability to drive projects that enhance our current capabilities and implement new components as needed.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance and leadership to our team of Data Platform Engineers.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the ongoing operation and evolution of the data platform.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable technical solutions.
- Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of our data infrastructure.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
Your Profile:
- Deep expertise in modern data stack technologies, encompassing both operational and architectural aspects.
- Proven experience managing and mentoring teams of engineers (3-4 direct reports).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong project management capabilities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with YouLend's existing data stack: Terraform, AWS, Rackspace, Helmchart, Jenkins, Snowflake, Metabase, Tableau.
- Experience working within the financial services or lending industry.
